![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Some of the alternate worlds are influenced more or less heavily by chaos, meaning that werewolves, Fae, vampires, and other supernatural beings exist (the more chaos-infected a world, the more dangerous it is as the world’s reality will bend too much towards fictional narratives, especially those created by the Fae) other worlds are influenced far more by order, and it is generally there that the dragons thrive. The stories are a genre-crossing mixture of steampunk, fantasy, and Holmesian detective fiction: Irene Winters (not her real name, and yes she’s named for That Woman, as Holmes refers to Irene Adler) is an agent of the interdimensional ‘invisible’ Library, and she’s sent to retrieve books from alternate realities to bring back to the Library. Genevieve Cogman’s The Invisible Library is the first in the eponymous series, with four books published and a fifth in the offing. ![]()
